Halloween party in my pub. Oki. Halloween finger food (for free). Oki. Nothing complicated, just make everything Halloweenie… hm…
Of course, i carved a couple of georgeous pumpkins at first (i did even break my little knife).
First i was angry because of my brainstorming for a week to create a couple of really beautiful tiny bites. And after i ve got the “kick in my ass” what the f8ck i think? Need to be easy – the food kindof’ not important just have to look spookie, creepy, scary… and whatever…. awesome.
So i changed my – glazed fig&serrano&goatcheese or/and curry&squash&choc&parmezan etc etc… ideas to something much more…. hm… how can i say… silly? :D
Im not angry anymore. If this part of the job gonna be as easy – i will have time to play a bit more, chill out and have fun. So lets jump into business and a big bath of cocktails….. :P
The pastry part was my favourite – of course: not much but my chilli&choc cookie with the melted cheddar-cheese face was a big winner (spicy and HOT) not mentioning my sangria cupcakes with skull face on the vanilla&lime icing (not a surprise when i didnt find black food-coloring so i quickly bought some fishy squid ink).
Savoury-wise i spent a lot of time carving legs for my tuna-spider eggs and serving with a sweet&sour olive powder. The biggest favorite was the bloody sticky fingers (my Mummy’s secret recipe) with almonds and parmezan.
I created a cemetery with cacao-shortbread crust, pumpkin mandarin and “amaretto sour” worms (using my brand new molecular gastro kit arrived from Canada) followed by the BEST FOREVER haribo rum jelly…. to remember Hans Riegel, the father of our loved little jelly bears who died recently in the sweet age of 90. Rest in Peace Big Inventor who made so many little kids life much more sweeter (and helping all the dentist earning good money :)) with huge smile on their face. Your name is not gonna be forgotten never.
Food was a big success – was long time ago when stranger people congratulate me for what ive done. Really good feeling. Really good. THANK U. xxx
